Dan is working on a new concerto for Grammy-winning Silk Road Ensemble percussionist Shane Shanahan, a collaboration with Refugee Services Collaborative and CityMusic Cleveland for premiere in March 2014. The new work, Roots to Branches, weaves together the stories of how refugee families first came to America and features percussion styles from a kaleidoscope of vibrant global cultures.
